Our History

Founded in 1993, ARCOS has grown to be the leading Software as a Service (SaaS) solution in North America. ARCOS begun by providing crew management software to utilities, but has since grown their capabilities to address the complete lifecycle of the resource management process for utilities, airlines and manufacturers using one system for both daily and emergency operations.

In 2016, ARCOS acquired SAMsix, a leader in mobile and GIS technology addressing mobile service design, permits, service connections, damage assessments and inspections for electric, gas and water utilities.. The acquisition combined ARCOS’ industry leading solutions to provide a comprehensive resource management platform that combined automated callouts and electronic crew management capabilities with SAMsix’s mobile data collection technologies and crew location services. The integrated resource management solution helps utilities to more quickly and accurately forecast estimated time of restoration (ETR), provides situational awareness into operations during an event and ultimately helps to improve service restoration and reliability in addition to reducing costs.

In 2017, ARCOS acquired the utility services division of Macrosoft, including their Resources on-Demand software. The acquired division brought extensive capabilities to ARCOS for managing large and small planned events and incidents on a daily basis. Resources on-Demand software specifically added the ability to track and support logistics requests during large-scale restoration events – greatly increasing the efficiencies for restoration. Resources On-Demand along with the entire ARCOS was used extensively during Hurricanes Harvey and Wilma in 2017 to improve the speed of restoration.

In 2018, ARCOS acquired RosterApps from Sciengistics. RosterApps enables airlines to simplify and streamline their workforce scheduling through a 100% web based solution. From assigning schedules, trading shifts to time off and absence management, the RosterApps solution expands ARCOS capabilities to manage resources through automation while enabling increased efficiency and elimination of paper systems and manual scheduling.

Today ARCOS supports leading regional and national airlines, and our utility customers serve more than 87 million households across the US and Canada.

Inc. Magazine has named ARCOS to its Inc. 5000 list four times as one of the fastest growing private companies in the United States. Based in Columbus, Ohio, ARCOS continues to land on the Fast50 list of one of the fastest growing companies in Central Ohio – ten times since 2007.
