About the job
As the QE & Site Leader for Mexico, you will establish ARCOS’ technical presence in the region, build teams from the ground up, and spearhead the evolution of quality practices at ARCOS through a modern, engineering-led approach. This role is a combination of site leadership and ownership of the quality engineering practice within ARCOS.
What you’ll do:
Functional Responsibility

Lead the Quality Engineering (QE) organization and spearhead the evolution of quality practices at ARCOS through a modern, engineering-led approach

Transform quality model by embedding automation, DevOps, and AI-driven testing across the SDLC
-
Champion a technology-driven quality culture focused on early detection and prevention of defects, resilience, scalability, and continuous improvement

Work cross-functionally to integrate quality into the development process and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software products

Partner with the QE Manager to lead the resolution and root cause analysis of production incidents related to software quality. Define and implement preventive strategies to reduce recurrence and improve incident response processes.

Strategic Leadership

Collaborate and Partner with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to establish and grow the Mexico entity

Partner with leadership to implement our quality engineering strategy across ARCOS

Drive initiatives that support our key objectives

Establish relationships with key stakeholders across Product, Design, and Operations
Site Development & Team Building

Build and scale our Mexico Team, across all departments represented in Mexico

Develop hiring strategies to attract and retain top engineering talent in the region

Create an inclusive, high-performing culture that emphasizes continuous learning and innovation

Establish operational frameworks that enable seamless collaboration with global teams
Operational Excellence

Plan, coordinate, and direct day-to-day business operations in Mexico, focusing on achieving company objectives while managing fiduciary responsibilities of the Mexico Entity

Own the P&L for the Mexico entity, driving budgetary planning, cost management, and financial discipline to ensure contribution to the company's Annual Operating Plan (AoP)

Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Mexico entity, including operational efficiency, financial performance, and talent retention

Ensure that the Mexico entity meets all local and global regulatory and legal requirements

Oversee risk management for Mexico operations, ensuring that the COE complies with global security and governance standards

Drive operational efficiency and delivery excellence across teams

Implement and refine processes that will allow rapid, high-quality software delivery

Ensure adherence to engineering best practices and quality standards

Monitor and report on key performance indicators aligned with business objectives
People Leadership

Lead in a matrixed environment, ensuring smooth collaboration between local teams and global functional heads (Engineering, Customer Success, Operations, etc.).

What you bring
Leadership Experience
-
5+ years in a senior leadership role, preferably managing multi-functional teams in a global SaaS/Software/Tech environment.

10+ years of progressive experience in software development, preferably in software quality or quality engineering
-
Proven ability to lead in a matrixed organization, balancing local leadership responsibilities with global functional integration
-
Proven track record of building and scaling engineering organizations in Mexico
-
Experience working in globally distributed, high-growth technology companies
-
Strong understanding of the Mexico tech ecosystem and talent market
-
Data-driven with a strong focus on measurable impact and outcomes.

Fluent in both Spanish and English, verbal and written (C level English level or higher)
Technical Acumen

Deep understanding of modern software development practices and technologies
-
Experience with continuous integration and delivery systems

Ability to guide technical decisions and architecture at a strategic level

Track record of delivering complex technical projects at scale

Proven experience in designing and scaling automation frameworks and integrating quality into CI/CD pipelines.

Familiarity with AI/ML use cases in testing and quality risk modeling is a strong plus.

Strong understanding of DevOps practices and cloud-based environments.

Demonstrated experience in owning and managing large-scale budgets with responsibility for financial outcomes
